News From the Farm

August 1, 2011

Hello From Owasso Christmas Tree and Berry Farm;

The extreme cold of last winter, the blistering heat and no rain pretty much took care of our blackberry crop. Not a good year for small fruits in Oklahoma. Our new trellis system really looks good and is coming along nicely. We are keeping our fingers crossed for next year's berry season.

Christmas trees love the hot temperatures but a little rain along the way would help a bunch. We will open our Christmas Gift Shop and the Christmas Tree fields for tagging and cutting on Nov 19th at 9am til 7pm. The Christmas items are arriving daily for the gift shop. Our growers tell us they have had plenty of rain and their trees are looking good. As in the past, we will have the best selection of fir trees we can find. Prices are up a hair because of the fuel increases' effect on freight charges.
